Privacy policy
Your videos stay yours.
- VIEW has no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking code of any kind.
- The app sends nothing about you or your media to us. We only receive what you choose to send through the feedback page or by email.
- Your library, playback history, settings, bookmarks and browsing history are kept only on your phone.
- Some optional features connect directly to a third-party service, such as OpenSubtitles for subtitles or LRCLIB for lyrics. They do so only when you use them, and they send only what that feature needs. Each one is listed below.
- We never sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone.
1. Who we are
VIEW Media Player (“VIEW”, “the app”) is an Android app published by the independent developer WargXP (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, where it goes, and the choices you have. It applies to the Android app and to this website.

2. What we collect
We do not collect personal data through the app. VIEW contains no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, crash-reporting service or tracking technology. It has no sign-up, and nothing about you, your phone or your media is sent to us.
The only time we receive information is when you choose to contact us: through the feedback page on this website (Settings › Send feedback in the app opens it), or by email. See Feedback & support.
3. Data kept on your phone
To work as a media player, VIEW keeps some information in its private storage on your device. This information is not sent to us or to anyone else.
- Your media library: the list of videos and music on your phone, thumbnails, where you stopped each video, and your favourites and playlists.
- Per-video settings: the speed, audio track and subtitles you chose for each video.
- App settings: the colour, player layout, subtitle appearance, folders you allowed and similar choices.
- Browser data (Tools › Browser): open tabs, bookmarks, history, cookies and website data. History is kept for up to 30 days. VIEW also clears cookies, website data and cache automatically every 30 days, and you can clear everything at any time from the browser or Settings.
- Download and torrent history: the list of files you downloaded, kept for up to 30 days.
- Saved logins: the addresses, user names and passwords of network servers you add (Network), and your OpenSubtitles login if you connect an account. They are used only to connect to those services.
- Error details and diagnostic log: if the app crashes, the technical details are saved in the app so they can be shown to you the next time VIEW opens. The diagnostic log records only while you switch it on in Settings › Troubleshooting. It never starts by itself, and it switches itself off after 2 minutes of VIEW not being used. When it stops, it is saved as a text file in Download/VIEW/Logs on your phone. Only the last two logs are kept, and you can share or delete them in Settings. A log contains your phone model and Android version, VIEW’s settings, technical messages about playback, and the names of files played while it was recording. Like anything in your Download folder, other apps you’ve given storage access to can read it. Nothing is ever sent automatically. You decide whether to share a log.
- Lyrics: lyrics found for your songs are saved so they don’t have to be looked up again.
Android backup. If backup is on for your Google account, Android may include VIEW’s settings and playlists in your device backup. That backup is handled by Google under your Google account. Saved logins, browser data, history and logs are excluded from backups and phone-to-phone transfers.
4. Features that go online
VIEW plays your files without an internet connection. The features below connect to the internet only when you use them. Each one talks directly from your phone to the service named, never through us. Like any internet connection, these services can see your device’s IP address. Their own privacy policies apply to what they receive.

5. YouTube
When you open a YouTube link in VIEW, the video plays in YouTube’s official embedded player (YouTube API Services). The video title is fetched from YouTube and the thumbnail from YouTube’s image servers. VIEW does not download YouTube videos, does not block YouTube’s ads, and does not collect anything from the YouTube player. YouTube and Google may collect information about how you watch, under their own terms:

- You can revoke access to your data through the Google security settings page. VIEW never asks for access to your Google account.
6. Permissions
VIEW asks only for the permissions its features need, and many of them are optional.

VIEW does not use your location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone calls, SMS or advertising ID.
7. Feedback & support
Settings › Send feedback opens the feedback page on this website. When you send it, we receive:
- the topic you choose (Problem, Idea, Question or Other) and your message;
- your email address, only if you enter one so we can reply;
- your VIEW version, Android version and phone model, only if you leave “Include phone details” ticked;
- a diagnostic log, only if you attach one (see section 3 for what a log contains).
How it reaches us. The form is sent to a small program we run on Cloudflare (a Cloudflare Worker). It checks the form and passes it to us as a message from our own bot on Telegram. To stop spam, the page uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-friendly check that you’re a person. Turnstile looks at technical signals from your browser, such as your IP address and browser details, and shows no ads and no tracking. The Worker uses your IP address only to limit how many messages can be sent. It stores it only as a one-way scrambled code, which is deleted within about an hour. It doesn’t keep your message.
What we do with it. We use feedback only to answer you and to fix and improve VIEW. It stays in our private Telegram chat. We don’t add it to mailing lists, share it or sell it. We delete it when it’s no longer needed, or sooner if you ask. Quote the reference shown after sending, or the email you used.
You can also email us at [email protected]. Then we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach, delivered by your email provider and ours (Gmail).
8. This website
This website (view.wargxp.com) is hosted on GitHub Pages, which may log visitors’ IP addresses for security. Its fonts come from Google Fonts, so your browser asks Google for them. The site has no analytics, no ads and no cookies. Your browser only remembers the colour you pick on the home page, and that choice never leaves your device.
9. Selling & sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade any information. The app itself sends us nothing, and feedback you send us is not shared with anyone. Information you send to a third-party service through a feature in section 4 goes directly to that service, because you asked for it.
10. Security
Data VIEW keeps is stored in the app’s private storage, which other apps can’t read. The exception is saved diagnostic logs, which are in your Download folder so you can find and share them. Feedback travels over encrypted HTTPS, our bot’s keys are kept as encrypted secrets on Cloudflare, and the form only accepts small plain-text log files. Connections to OpenSubtitles, the lyrics services and Google use encrypted HTTPS. Connections you set up yourself, such as a network server or a website, use whatever that server supports. Where there’s a choice, prefer the secure options (HTTPS, SFTP, FTPS). No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, but we have designed VIEW to keep as little as possible, and to keep it on your device.
11. Retention & deletion
- Browser history and download history are kept for up to 30 days. Cookies and website data are cleared automatically every 30 days.
- You can clear browsing data and history, remove network servers you added, disconnect your OpenSubtitles account, and delete saved diagnostic logs at any time in the app.
- Clearing VIEW’s storage (Android Settings › Apps › VIEW › Storage) or uninstalling the app deletes everything VIEW stored in its private storage. Files it saved to your phone’s shared folders stay until you delete them: downloads, screenshots, files received by Wi-Fi transfer, and saved logs in Download/VIEW/Logs.
- Feedback is deleted once it’s dealt with and no longer needed. To have your feedback or emails deleted sooner, write to [email protected].
12. Children
VIEW is a general-audience media app. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, India’s DPDP Act or US state privacy laws may give you rights over your personal data. These can include the right to access, correct or delete it, and to object to how it is used. Almost all of VIEW’s data is under your direct control on your own phone. For anything we hold, which can only be feedback or emails you sent us, contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
14. Changes to this policy
If VIEW’s features change the way data is handled, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app’s release notes on Google Play.
